Onkyo BD-SP809Onkyo just released the BD-SP809 THX certified 3D capable Blu-ray disc player. The BD-SP809 sits at the top of Onkyo’s line of Blu-ray players. In addition to Blu-ray 3D playback, the model features support for DVDs and CDs encoded with popular compressed formats such as DivX HD, MP3, and WMA, as well as audio and video files from a USB mass storage device.

The player boasts network support to incorporate videos, music, and photos sent from a DLNA 1.5-certified media server, along with video-on-demand capabilities, allowing you to stream movies and TV shows directly to the TV in high definition or standard definition quality through Netfix, Blockbuster, Film Fresh, and VUDU services.

Onboard Qdeo technology from Marvell provides deinterlacing, noise-reduction, and 1080p upscaling. The player’s two HDMI outputs allow users to switch between two displays, such as a main TV and a projector or another video display device.

The BD-SP809 supports high-definition audio formats such as DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD.

The Onkyo BD-SP809 will be available in August for about $599. Contact Onkyo for more details.
