“Stream” is the word at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show. A number of companies are introducing new streaming devices at the show this year and Paradigm is no exception. Paradigm’s SHIFT Universal Bluetooth Receiver (BD 1) allows users to stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device supporting Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) or Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) — smartphones such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry, or other Bluetooth devices such as laptops or tablets.

The SHIFT BD 1 package includes the receiver, a built-in 250mAH Li-polymer rechargeable battery, an audio cable, and an AC adapter. In order to begin enjoying streaming music, users simply plug the receiver into a power outlet, plug the audio cable into a pair of powered speakers, and sync.

While the SHIFT BD 1 is truly universal and should play nice with any powered speaker or music system, Paradigm would like you to know that the receiver would work really well with the company’s SHIFT A2 Powered Speakers.

The Universal Bluetooth Receiver should be available sometime in the winter of 2012 and will retail for $59.99.
