Anthem has updated its D2v and AVM 50v A/V Processors and Preamplifiers with 3D capability. Users will now be able to switch between 3D sources on four HDMI inputs and one HDMI output, and can also enable automatic passthrough as a per-source menu option for video output configuration.

Owners of previous-generation processors and preamplifiers will also be able to take advantage of the 3D capability though a dealer-installed circuit board. Once the new board is installed — taking the place of two smaller boards in current models — users will need to perform a software update before 3D switching is possible.

The 3D-capable D2v and AVM 50v will be available in the first quarter of 2012. The D2v carries a retail price of $8,999, while the AVM 50v will sell for $5,999.
