Everyone is making soundbars these days and Definitive Technology is no exception. There are a few soundbars in the current Definitive lineup, but the model that the company is exhibiting at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show is its first fully active surround bar.
Details are still forthcoming, but here is what we know so far: Definitive Tech’s soundbar is 200 watts and ships with a 250-watt wireless subwoofer. The bar itself is only 2 and 1/4 inches deep and features three HDMI outputs and one HDMI input. The unit also includes one optical and one analog audio input.
Definitive Technology hasn’t set a price yet, but for a unit with nine drivers (each with its own amp) and no passive crossover, one could expect to pay a premium. The new soundbar will be available in July of 2012. Visit Definitive Technology for more information.
