Faced with a shortage of OLED panels due to Samsung and LG cell phone production eating most of the supply through June, Apple has reportedly decided to go with IGZO OLED panels from Sharp instead for new iPads/iPhones/iPods, and of course, iTV. With the company unnable to start manufacturing in earnest until summer, iTV will likely not launch until sometime in the fall so that sufficient product to meet demand can be generated. Apple’s still-unnofficial iTV is rumored to support apps, Siri voice control, and two-way communication with peripherals to create custom touchscreen interfaces.
