Full Metal Jacket 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Book

Kubrick fans, if the first two Blu-ray releases of Full Metal Jacket didn’t tempt you, perhaps the third time’s a charm. The 1987 war flick (known even to those who have never seen it for its introduction of the line, “Me love you long time!” into the pop culture lexicon) is getting a more deluxe treatment this time around: the 25thAnniversary Blu-ray Book packaging consists of “44 pages that include a personal letter and intimate reflections from star Matthew Modine, as well as behind-the-scenes photos specifically selected for this release.”

Also new to this release is the first home video appearance of the 2008 documentary Stanley Kubrick’s Boxes, the trailer for which you can view on YouTube.

The Commentary by Adam Baldwin, Vincent D’Onofrio, R. Lee Ermey, and critic/screenwriter Jay Cocks; Full Metal Jacket: Between Good and Evil featurette; and theatrical trailer from previous releases will also be included.

The Full Metal Jacket: 25th Anniversary Blu-ray Book is set to retail for $34.99. Amazon has it available for preorder now at $25.99. And if you’re interested in upgrading, now may be the perfect time to sell your old copy.
