Sony and Redbox Experience No Delay Extending Their Deal

Sony Pictures is just about the only major studio that Redbox gets discs from on the day of release, something that their rivals have put a firm kibosh on.

It seems Sony is happy to keep the current deal going, because they just signed a new deal with lots of options for extensions. One has to wonder if there might be a major ace up their sleeve when it comes to the new Verizon-backed Redbox streaming service that caused them to be so eager to maintain the status quo
