Control4 is busy at the 2012 CEDIA Expo. If you haven’t heard about their exciting partnership with Sony on receivers integrated with home automation, check that out first and them come back here to learn about how you can control those receivers.

Control4 is launching un update to its home automation operating system: OS 2.3.

The updated software backbone of the system, which will be available in the fourth quarter of 2012, offers a new user experience for lighting control, new applications for light commercial installations, and feature enhancements to boost performance and interoperability.

The new lighting interface includes visual refinements and will give users new personalization and editing capabilities.  These expanded capabilities minimize the  need for on-site tweaking by dealer by allowing owners to make these simple changes on their own. A Preference Default function is also built in to the new system and remembers what homeowners like and sets on-screen default values to those preferences

OS 2.3 also offers a number of enhancements for dealers with light commercial clients. Dealers can expect better user interface customization, an Access Agent that offers more controlled access to automated capability, support for commercial HVAC systems, and support for teleconference systems.
