In the latest twist in a huge controversy from International CES, the Consumer Electronics Association announced Thursday that it is awarding Dish’s Hopper DVR a “Best of Show” award, and also dropping CNET as a media partner of the annual Best of CES award.
DISH’s Hopper with Sling Whole-Home HD DVR is now a co-winner of Best of Show, along with previously announced winner Razer Edge gaming tablet. CEA, in a press release, announced that “CNET editors originally selected the Hopper with Sling as Best of Show before CNET’s corporate parent, CBS Corp. forced them to remove the Hopper from consideration due to ongoing litigation between CBS Corp. and DISH over specific features of the Hopper,” confirming previous media reports.
