ED-209Your home theater may have a popcorn machine, a soda fountain, and movie posters, but what about a full-time security officer? Wouldn’t you love to have a full size ED-209 — the giant, automated law enforcement robot from RoboCop 2 — protecting your main media room? Sure he might be a little deaf, and he has a little trouble with the stairs, but there’s no question that he’ll at least scare away the troublemakers.

Supposedly, according to the eBay listing, this big boy is either an original movie prop, or at a least marketing piece made for the film:

This ED-209 model was made for the movie Robocop 2. It may have been used as a stand-in for the robot during production or created as a marketing piece to promote the movie. It stands at over 10 feet tall on two hind legs built with pneumatic cylinders.  The moving parts have not been tested.  This robot has been in storage for quite some time. There is electrical wiring for the hydraulics to work with the leg extensions and to rotate the body portion.  It was built very well and is truly a must see piece. It is available for viewing and pick-up at our office location in North Hollywood, CA.  The robot can be freighted at the buyer’s expense.  Feel free to contact me for a shipping quote or have any questions at all.

So if you’ve got $25K earmarked for a wicked cool home theater rennovation, toss your hat in the ring and own a piece of OCP history.
