Say the words “professional projector” and the dollar signs start piling up in my head. Tack on words like “high bright” and “high-res,” and I can’t help but think “second mortgage.” ViewSonic definitely bucks those assumptions, though, with high-quality, professional-grade DLP projectors that, screen-inch-for-screen-inch, beat the heck out of the price of most good flat panel TVs. Its new Pro8 Series models — the Pro8520HD and Pro8600 – for example, feature oodles of brightness, good contrast ratio, and oodles of features aimed at professional installation, all for $2,229.99 and $2,029.99 each, repsectively.

Both the PRO8520HD and PRO8600 will be available at Amazon by the end of March 2013, although you may want to hold off on ordering until they’re in stock, since Amazon’s pricing doesn’t match up with the MSRPs listed in the press release.
