Perhaps the coolest thing about Raspberry Pi — the itty bitty little $35 computer that fits in the palm of your hand — isn’t its size. Or its price. The coolest thing about it is the way it has inspired users to tweak it, hack it, and put it to use in all sorts of different scenarios, from home automation to HTPC.
Treehugger has put together a collection of seven of its favorite Raspberry Pi tutorials from YouTube, which run the gamut from basic unpacking and setup videos to slightly more advanced basics like how to enable Wi-Fi connectivity. There are some also some more advanced projects like turning your Raspberry Pi into a cheap media center, building a retro-style PC case for the Raspberry Pi, using it for personal web hosting, and turning it into an ultrasonic sensor. But my favorite (by far the most advanced tutorial of the bunch) is this tutorial on how to turn your Raspberry Pi into a full-fledged internet radio, complete with LCD screen and custom Python scripts:
