Meridian announced this week that its DSP520 in-wall loudspeaker is now available. The 520 is a more budget-friendly model in the same line as the DSP640 in-wall that Chris Schaaf first reported on during CES.
Meridian has designed the DSP520 for discreet installations, but has also given customers the flexibility to pair the speaker with freestanding models such as the DSP7200. The 520 features drivers mounted into the front extrusion of the enclosure itself, along with a separate housing for the electronics and amplifiers. Custom installers will also appreciate that the DSP520 can be mounted horizontally or vertically. The speaker includes a paintable magnetic grill that can be fitted into any type of wall.
Meridian has outfitted the DSP520 with Enhanced Bass Alignment and Centre Elevation technologies found in the company’s freestanding speakers, but in a narrow enclosure that measures a mere 200 millimeters.
The DSP520 in-wall speaker retails for $5,000 each, and is available now from authorized Meridian dealers.
