Kwikset SmartCode second generation smart lock

The name Kwikset is everywhere, stamped on practically every key or door lock manufactured since  1946. The brand has even expanded to the HomeTech world with a series of smart locks designed with home automation in mind. Its latest high-tech offering is the second generation SmartCode deadbolt, which boasts the smallest interior footprint of any model in its class.

The new SmartCode lock features a new aesthetic and a redesigned quiet-drive locking system. Kwikset has designed the SmartCode to integrate with home security and automation systems by communicating with other wireless products such as security and home entertainment systems.

Homeowners will be able to monitor and lock doors thanks to the SmartCode’s Z-Wave technology. The SmartCode also includes Kwikset’s SmartKey® re-key technology, which allows homeowners to re-key locks without having to remove the lock from the door, and BumpGuard™ lock bumping protection.

The SmartCode will be available in the third quarter of 2013 in a number of styles and finishes. For more information visit Kwikset on the web.
