Starting Sunday, if you want to save some bucks on JJ Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness, and you know you’re going to pre-order it on Blu-ray anyway, check out the great deal that Best Buy will be offering. Not only will your pre-order score you $8 in Movie Cash to see the film now, but you’ll also get access to the early digital version when it becomes available weeks before the home video release, which — given that it’s based on CinemaNow — will likely go right into your UltraViolet kitty to boot. Sadly, if they’re giving out all of these goodies, there will likely not be a Steelbook version, at least not from Best Buy.
According to Trek Today:
In addition, Best Buy also carries the “exclusive Acer Aspire R7 PC that will appear in the movie. Customers who pre-order the computer now through May 16 will receive a free download of the PC version of the Star Trek: Into Darkness game.”
Star Trek Into Darkness is expected to be one of the big hits of the summer season, and is currently on track for a $100 million weekend. Right from his press tour on this movie, JJ Abrams will go right into production on the new Star Wars: Episode VII for Disney, which many hope will be a creative return to form for the franchise.
