Via Electronic House comes news that Panasonic’s ZT60 plasma is now shipping in both 60- and 65-inch varieties.
If you recall, the ZT60 is one of two new plasma displays — along with Samsung’s F8500 — that quenched my thirst for market-ready OLEDs at this year’s CES in Las Vegas. Black levels? Practically perfect. Contrast? Superb. Colors? Gorgeous. Detail? Exquisite. In fact, chances are good that the ZT60 will give you a better image than any of this year’s 4K Ultra HD displays.
Of course, that goodness does come with a bit of a premium price. The ZT60 series consists for now of two models: the 65-inch TC-P65ZT60, with a $4,099.99 MSRP; and the 60-inch TC-P60ZT60, with a $3,499.99 MSRP. Superior picture quality isn’t the only thing contributing to those prices, though; both displays come with a pair of 3D glasses, THX certification for both 2D and 3D, voice recognition and voice guidance, and support for Panasonic’s Electronic Touch Pen (TY-TP10U), which allows you to write directly on the screen.
For a limited time, both the TC-P60ZT60 and TC-P65ZT60 will be available exclusively at Best Buy’s 400 Magnolia locations in the US.
