Salamander Designs AV CabinetsSalamander Designs has launched a new website designed to make the process of selecting, designing, and configuring custom AV furniture a snap for consumers and custom integrators alike. From the press release:

The new website features innovative online tools such as Salamander’s award-winning Custom Configurator, which can assist both dealers and consumers in selecting the style, functionality and features best suited to any application. Dealers can enhance their presentation of Salamander’s products to their customers by leveraging multiple views of each model now available on the website. For those interested in more technical data, instructions, spec sheets and FAQ’s are also an available resource as well as an ever-expanding video library containing useful set-up tutorials for the A/V furniture products. “Our goal was to give our customers the ultimate web tool for making choices within the Salamander product line, and I think we achieved that with our new website,” concluded [Salamander president Sal] Carrabba. The new Salamander website went live June 5th, 2013.

The Custom Configurator is definitely the coolest part of all of this. Click on any of the company’s AV cabinets — or just skip right to the DYO button at the top of the website — and you can literally see your own design come to life, complete with bases, risers, back walls, hutches, doors, feet, casters, TV mounts, speakers mounts, rear panels, cooling solutions, drawers, side walls… you name it. And when you’re done, you can save or print your design, complete with dimensions.

As part of the celebration surrounding the new website redesign, Salamander is giving away one new Saddle ergonomic iPad holder — a little beanbag chair for your favorite tablet — each week through its Facebook page for the next 10 weeks. Even if you’re not in the market for new custom AV furniture, that’s certainly worth a look.
