Heads up, Chicago! Aereo, the infamous streaming antenna and cloud DVR service that just won’t quit, is launching in the Windy City and surrounding areas on September 13, just in time for the official start of the 2013-14 broadcast season. Following on successful launches in New York City, Boston, and most recently Atlanta, Aereo’s expansion into Chicago and surrounding areas will cover 16 counties across Illinois and Indiana, with over 9.5 million potential viewers.

As with existing markets, and Aereo subscription in the Chicago area will set you back $8 per month, which includes full access to WLS-TV (ABC), WFLD-TV (FOX), WMAQ-TV (NBC), WBBM-TV (CBS), WYCC (PBS), and “other other-the-air special interest and foreign language channels,” along with 20 hours of DVR storage. Add $4 to your monthly bill and you can up your DVR storage to a total of 60 hours. And, of course, your first month is free.
