Toshiba Shows Ultra HD TVs and 4K Upscaling Blu-ray Player at CE Week

Colleague Howard Whitman reported at Dealerscope yesterday from CE Week about Toshiba‘s new 4K Ultra HD TVs and upscaling Blu-ray player, delivering pricing and availability information that wasn’t available when the offerings debuted at CES:

CE Week NWFloor Toshiba-largeToshiba will be making an aggressive push into the 4K TV market this summer with the release of three new UltraHD TVs, along with a 4K Blu-ray player. The new models were unveiled by Scott Ramirez , Toshiba’s vice president, Product Marketing and Development, Digital Products Division at a press conference held Wednesday at CE Week in New York.

The three models in Toshiba’s L9300 series are a 58-inch set priced at $4,999.99, a 65-inch model for $6,999.99, and an 84-inch unit for $16,999.99.

Toshiba also is coming out with a 4K upscaling Blu-ray player, the BDX6400, which will retail for $299.99. This unit, Ramirez announced, is the first 4K Blu-ray player to achieve Technicolor 4K certification.
