LG LA9700 4K Ultra HD TVIf you’re in the Santa Monica area this evening and want to get your first peek at LG’s new 55- and 65-inch LA9700 4K “Ultra HD” TVs, head over to Video & Audio Center at 1426 Wilshire Blvd. (near the intersection of 15th & Wilshire) between 5 and 8pm for the official launch. Not only will this event be the public’s first opportunity to lay eyes on the 55-inch and 65-inch LG LA9700 Series 4K Ultra HD TVs, but also  your first opportunity to bring one of these babies home, for $5,999 and $7,999, respectively. Although you will have to wait for the press conference to end at 5:30 before you can drag one to the cash register.

Both LA9700 models sport 3840 x 2160 resolution, along with LG’s Tru-Ultra HD engine to upscale your standard- and high-definition content to 4K, and also boast a unique 4.1-channel, 50-watt soundbar that slides out from the bottom of the display, and retracts when not in use.

Following the demonstration of all this spiffy new tech, there will be a discussion about “current HDTV market trends, the future of smart television displays and what these more affordable models will mean for the Southern California economy.”

And if you’re present, you can also sign up to win your very own LG 55-inch LED HDTV.

The award-winning Video & Audio Center has been introducing new technologies to its clients for more than 32 years.  “We are honored that our showroom has been selected as the launch venue for these incredible new LG 4K Ultra HDTVs and marks another first for us and LG. We expect that attendees will be blown away at the stunning realism of the TVs 4K performance capabilities and will continue to be very popular with our clients,” remarked Joseph Akhtarzad, co-owner of Video & Audio Center.
