While there are many helmet Bluetooth audio solutions for motorcycles, and some in-helmet speaker systems, if you have Harley parked outside a bar you want to be able to share the tunes.  Moreover, Bluetooth and a 1/2 skull helmet just don’t mix.  Or if you are in New Hampshire and sporting no helmet at all (Live Free and Ride).  JL Audio has come out with adaptor rings for Harley touring models that feature a factory audio system.  Pop out the small puny Harley ones and drop in the JL Audio replacement…

According to JL Audio: “When it comes to creating great audio on a motorcycle, bigger is definitely better. The 5.25” stock speakers installed on many Harley-Davidson motorcycles simply cannot compete with the exhaust system on a Harley touring bike at speed—especially if the exhaust has been upgraded.  Installing high-quality 6.50” speakers in the fairing will dramatically improve the music experience for riders, while in motion. JL Audio’s new speaker adaptor rings for Road Glide and Street Glide fairings are entirely designed, tooled, and manufactured in the USA from durable, virgin ABS plastic.  Both models are designed to accommodate the JL Audio C3-650 or C5-650 speakers and include all mounting hardware for the fairing and the speakers. The installed look is completely stock, but the sound certainly isn’t.”

According to Carl Kennedy, VP of sales for JL Audio, “Three of the biggest names in custom motorcycles—Eddie Trotta’s Thunder Cycles, Covington Customs, and Jim Nasi Designs all use 6.50” JL Audio speakers exclusively because size does matter! Everyone who has tried this upgrade is sold on its simplicity and sound quality benefits.”
