January’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2013) will feature seven of the top 10 automakers showcasing everything from new in-car technology to new features focused on efficiency.
According to the CES 2013 News Feed, Audi, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Kia, and Subaru will be on-hand at the show that kicks off Tuesday, Jan. 8 in Las Vegas.
In addition, the feed said more than 110 automotive technology companies will showcase their wares and services at the show. Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the trade group that organizes the annual show, said its industry forecasts predict sales of factory-installed car technologies will increase by 11.3% in 2013 to a total of nearly $8.7 billion. Furthermore, the CES 2013 News Feed said CEA consumer research showed approximately 15% of households in the United States currently own a vehicle with a connected communication and/or entertainment system.
TechRadar noted some tensions between aftermarket and OEM in-car tech manufacturers, which will be addressed in a presentation titled “Are Automakers Running the Aftermarket Off the Road?”
