Pioneer’s AppRadio 2 Just Got a Little Sweeter…

Pioneer came out with the AppRadio a few years ago, and it was good.  But the AppRadio 2 is even better.  It works with both Apple iOS and Android smartphones.  The two main things that make it better are safety and a better user experience.  You could go out and purchase a head unit that uses your iPhone as the faceplate.  Or you could just suction-cup the iPhone to the dash or magnetize it to your HVAC vents using a multitude of mounts.  But neither of those features mimic the capabilities of the AppRadio’s capacitive large display.  It makes it easy and safe to use while driving.  The iPhone- notsomuch.

I got a personalized demo of the AppRadio 2 right at my house, and I could immediately recognize the merits of a system designed to be installed in the vehicle, and communicate with a safely-tucked-away smartphone instead of an ad hoc solution.

After this rebate (below), it should seal the deal!  But, it makes me wonder what Pioneer has it up its sleeve since it is trying to reduce AppRadio 2 inventory…    AppRadio 3 coming soon?
