Kenwood’s KMR555U Marine Receiver

LONG BEACH, CA – Kenwood USA has introduced two new marine receivers that offer connectivity to the latest smartphone platforms such as Android and iPhone, plus convenient front-panel control over multiple connected music services.

The KMR-555U ($250.00) is a full-featured CD receiver with a large 3-line display that shows multiple lines of scrolling text streamed from Pandora Internet Radio, iHeart-Radio, Clear Channel’s all-in-one digital radio service featuring live and custom stations, satellite radio from SiriusXM (optional SXV Connect Vehicle Tuner sold separately, SiriusXM subscription required) or from music stored on an iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch or Android-platform smartphone (when used with Kenwood Music Control app for Android).

New for 2013 is the addition of front and rear, dual USB ports for even more connectivity options. Both front-panel USB port and 3.5mm auxiliary input are protected by a retractable cover. A protective CD Door/Cover keeps airborne particles from interfering with the internal mechanism and gives the KMR-555U a sleek, finished look. Three sets of preamp outputs add system building flexibility, and a three-band equalizer helps to optimize audio performance.

At the entry level, the KMR-355U ($140.00) offers many of the features of the KMR-555U and is delivered with a single-line, 11-digit display, a single, front-panel USB port and two sets of preamp outputs.

These new Kenwood marine CD receivers can be operated by matching, wired remote controls. The KCA-RC55MR ($150.00) is compatible with the KMR-555U and offers duplicate power, volume and source controls while allowing the user to track music files up and down. An LCD display with two-lines of streaming text gives the user complete visibility of music data and receiver system status. Up to three KCA-RC55MR remote controls can be added to the KMR-555U receiver.

The KCA-RC35MR ($90.00) works with the KMR-555U and KMR-355U, and offers similar receiver control as the KCA-RC55MR but without the LCD display. Up to six KCA-RC35MR remote controls can be added to the KMR-355U receiver.

These receivers and remotes are covered by a limited one-year manufacturer’s warranty and are available through authorized Kenwood retailers.
