In my inbox today was a study from the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute about consumer’s thoughts on global warming and CO2 capture in vehicles.  Most people thought there was a direct link between global warming and CO2 tailpipe emissions.  They also would be willing to spend money for an onboard collection system to trap the waste CO2.

However, these surveys can be misleading as people taking them may be more apt to choose socially acceptable answers before they put up hard-earned money for their own car buying purchase.  As car aficionado Brian Johnson famously said “Money Talks.”    My personal agenda is to try and reduce the amount of foreign-purchased oil (especially from people who don’t like us) as well as save some money at the pump.  Hence why I went hybrid.  If reduced tailpipe emissions are a byproduct of that, well, then go for yours.
