Avon Lake, OH – Boom Mat, a division of Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), and maker sound deadening and acoustic control products, have announced their support of the Mobile Electronics Competition Association (MECA).

MECA is an international grassroots audio trade show association based in Goodlettsville, Tenn., that produces 130 audio competitions in more than 30 states in addition to other special events.

“MECA is a natural fit for Boom Mat, as our entire brand focus is on the development of cutting- edge products that provide the ultimate in acoustic control—whether your goal is to get the deepest bass or the clearest audio. We currently manufacture 11 sound control products for improved audio performance,” said Mike Zenone, business development manager for DEI, in a company press release.

“We are excited to be a part of MECA in a major way and are in the process of forming a team for competition that will demonstrate our full line of Boom Mat products,” he added.

Boom Mat also announced the formation of Team Boom Mat for MECA competitions in 2013.

The MECA competition is based on achieving either the highest certified score in sound pressure or the highest certified score in sound quality with competitions ranked as single, double or triple points. The MECA World Finals are hosted annually in Nashville in October.
