I had an awesome time a few weeks ago at the 2015 Ford Mustang launch party. It is hard to believe that the Mustang will become synonymous with technology, but the ponycar is cementing its presence into the tech world by becoming the Official Vehicle of CES 2014. “It is very exciting to see an iconic American car like Mustang equipped with state-of-the-art technology,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CEA. “Automobiles are rapidly becoming mobile technology platforms as consumers demand connectivity along with efficiency and performance in their vehicles.”
“Mustang has always been more than just a car, as it reminds us of the freedom and joy that comes from traveling the open road,” said Jim Farley, executive vice president, Ford global marketing, sales and service and Lincoln. “With world-class performance and innovative technologies wrapped in a sleek design, the all-new Ford Mustang puts you in control of the driving experience that suits you best.”
Who could have imagined a Mustang with lane departure assist and adaptive cruise control? The interwebz have been discussing the idea of a hybrid model, but no official word from the Blue Oval on this just yet.
If you are lucky enough to attend CES, be sure to check out the Driverless Car Experience and GoElectricDrive exhibit areas at the show. And, of course, the 2015 Mustang.
