Clarion announced its Summer Roadtrip Sweepstakes promotion inspired by the global influence of the BMW 2002 in fashion and lifestyle. But the icing on the cake is a Kate Spade tote stuffed with an NX604 multimedia powerhouse rather than the typical tissue paper.

For its first project, Clarion selected to completely restore a 1974 BMW 2002 through its innovative new ‘Clarion Builds’ program, which is designed to serve as a base for Clarion and its partners to tackle unique restoration projects of iconic cars and trucks. By leveraging a mix of social and traditional media, the program’s main objective is to connect with new and existing fans who are car enthusiasts.

Clarion’s Summer Roadtrip Sweepstakes runs until Friday, Aug. 15. To enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win cool prizes, entrants should start by visiting Clarion’s Facebook page and follow the directions from there. No purchase is necessary, and entrants have multiple opportunities to qualify for bonus entries.

Clarion Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning Allen H. Gharapetian said, “We knew from the start that our Clarion Builds’ BMW 2002 restoration project was going to be an exciting one but we were completely taken by what an influence this iconic car has had on the lives of our fans and friends who remember this trend-setting car from the 1970s for reasons beyond owning, driving or riding in one.

“As we discover more about the importance of the BMW 2002 in the automotive industry specially given that it almost single-handedly defined the sports sedan category, we are also realizing what a favorite this car has been in design, music, fashion, film, and related industries. In fact, several well-known brands have and continue to use this specific BMW model in trendy ad campaigns, music videos, 1970s era movies, and in many other forms of art and cultural events,” Gharapetian added.

To match the trend-setting presence of the BMW 2002, Clarion’s Summer Roadtrip Sweepstakes’ grand prize features a fashionable Kate Spade Tote inside which is a Clarion NX604 in-dash navigation system, a next-generation Polaroid Instant Camera, a $100 Gas Gift Card, and a National Geographic “Drives of a Lifetime” lavishly illustrated travel planner book.

Each week, entrants have opportunities to win additional prizes including a $25 iTunes card in week one, a $50 gas card in week two, and a $150 Sunglass Hut gift card in week three.

The first Clarion Builds project, the ground-up restoration of a 1974 BMW 2002, an iconic modern classic, will be a work of art at the completion of the project. Clarion and its key partners aim to bring fans and followers a great deal of detail designed to generate excitement and encourage participation as the project moves forward towards completion sometime before the end of the year.
